Before a scene begins, it is critical to establish a set of safe words. The significance of this cannot be overstated! As a result, the scenes can be extremely intense. They’re capable of eliciting anything from tears to screams. This isn’t always a bad thing; in fact, it’s often beneficial to the scene’s intensity. As long as people know that if things get out of hand, they’ll always have a way to end the scene while still allowing for the intensity they desire, they’ll feel completely safe in their own skin. This is also beneficial to doms, who can better assess the capabilities of their sub. Having both a green/yellow/red system and a safe word is a good idea, as it provides two options for stopping and two options for continuing.
